I have never been fond of a shrine or considered myself a prayer. Coming from a country where temples are commonly seen around every city (hey, I know the difference!); a shrine seems like a good old friend. After seeing one, you see them all kinda deal. What I like about visiting a shrine is an opportunity to find a unique angle for my photos. Actually those not-so-famous ones around the neighborhood are great; since there won't be many tourists wandering around and you can take time to appreciate, pray, meditate, whatever. There are numerous amount of shrines around Japan, each with its own uniqueness and history. Another brilliant idea is to visit the same shrine in different seasons and keep taking the same angle of photo. Im gonna do it from this year onwards, you shall wait & see... Image
