This is an interesting one so far which many tourists don't really have a chance to see. The festival celebrates Shinagawa's history as the first shukuba (post station) on Tokaido route which linked Edo and Kyoto in the past. The event takes place along the old Tokaido which is now the sururban street between Kita Shinagawa to Aomono Yokocho station on the Keikyu line.
I took all photos with Summicron 35/2 ASPH and cropped/ edited most of them due to the unnecessary/ distracting elements in the photos. Shooting in a small street packed with people is just too hard to avoid the crowd and frame a perfect shot. Plus the parade started at mid day, 1200 sharp which gave terribly harsh lighting/ shadow.
