A trip to refresh my Taiwan memory: great people, good food and very clean city!
Part 3 of our round -the-world honeymoon trip (RTW). Continuing our trip to Milan (Italy), Berlin (Germany) and passing thru Madrid (Spain) to arrive in Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls (Brazil).
Roppongi Halloween, Tokyo Japan. Japanese Halloween is amazing, everything goes; manga characters, TV idols, ghostsy costumes and of course lots of random stuff. Great place to photograph on the street.
Part 2 of our round the world honey moon trip (RTW), leaving from St. Petersburg (Russia) to Milan and continuing to Venice (Italy).
The start of our round the world honeymoon trip (RTW). Beginning in Tokyo (Japan), our stop was Bangkok (Thailand). After a family gathering, we headed to Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russia). The great journey began!
1st visit to a historical city, Takayama in Gifu prefecture where we attended a seminar at one of pharmaceutical clients' factory. A real-life time slip into an old Japan.
My 2nd trip to Austria and Hungary with a bit of Germany, I tried not to take cliche tourist photos, but more on street photography. These shots were taken in Frankfurt, Budapest, Vienna and Salzburg. Lots of happenings on the street!
There are a lot of noises out there about Leica M-9/ M-E's sloppy high ISO performance (somewhat true) where it is said to be usable up to ISO800 and beyond that is designated as "no man's land" where people try not to crank their ISOup to the 1000-2500 zone (myself included). I tried and found the results to be quite surprising!
A beautiful day with a great company to capture colorful foliage at Komoro, Nagano prefecture. Photos were taken with Leica M2 and Fuji Pro 400h film. Another good off-the-beaten path for viewing autumn leaves in Japan.
A narrative images of street photography depicting a daily life of commuters at/ around Tokyo Station, one of the busiest stations in Japan (if not the busiest). Photos were taken with Leica M2 and Kodak 400CN film.
Weekend escape with my good-old friends in New Zeland. The plan of our trip included Nikko, Kawaji Onsen and Edo Wonderland in Tochigi prefecture. Kawaji onsen definitely has a refeshing angle to offer in terms of an onsen town, good choice for a peaceful weekend escape from busy Tokyo.
Oya Stone Mining, a hidden underground space in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture. When I first saw the photo of this place, it resembles somewhere inside the Egyptian pyramids. Fantastic place to get away from the summer heat as the temperature is naturally kept cool all year round.
Welcome to Autumn! This once a year Sanma (Pacific Saury) Festival in Meguro will make your mouth watery. The festival is held every year in early September where 6,000- 7,000 sanma are grilled and given away!
Escape from the hectic Tokyo life: greenery, lots of fresh air and healthy hike where life resets back to the nature.
Well, Im not gonna be shy about this as I approach people and ask for a permission to snap their photo all the times. It's a pity when seeing someone with a unique look on the street and regret it at home not getting a shot.
I have asked and spoken to all strangers's photos below and they're all cool about it. Big thanks to all beautiful strangers out there!
