Opinion: LomoChrome XR Purple 100- 400@ Caribbean and Latin American Street Festival
For those who are lazy to read, in a nutshell, this film is magical, period. I never thought about buying this film, but somehow it got into my curiosity over the last weekend. Despite its high price tag (1,1xx yen a roll), I decided to give it a go. This little film's trick is that you can rate it between ISO100- 400 and it yields different results and purpleness. My first roll didn't get purple as the examples on Lomo site as green turns purple and I shot in the bright sun (ISO100 mostly). People said they hit the sweet spot at ISO200. I have found that at ISO100 under the shade seems to be quite right to my eyes (the tattoo lady). Anyhow I'm very impressed with what it delivers. All photos have been processed lightly, mostly bumping up contrast and adjusting minor stuff. All colors are original. Can you believe they are all from the same roll? It's certainly the most fun film to shoot with. For my next roll, I'll have an experiment of rating it in different ISO and compare results. Trust me, if you haven't tried this film, you have already missed a lot..
My Verdict: Even at this price to pay for, I will still shoot this film and try to convert friends to use it. Im totally sold in.
Can you see my ghostly image in this double-exposure shot? :D
