Your Okinawa photographer — local and English-speaking
Professional photography across the whole island · Naha · Chatan · Onna · and beyond
My partner photographer is locally rooted in Okinawa, fully English-speaking, and exceptionally good at making people forget they're being photographed. They have spent years covering the island, from military family sessions in Chatan to couples at Nirai Beach at golden hour. The kind of photographer you trust from the first five minutes, and whose photos you'll still love in twenty years.

recommended locations for your photoshoot in Okinawa
Chatan & American Village backstreets
The most dramatic coastal scenery on the main island — and that's saying something. Rugged coral cliffs drop straight into turquoise water, with the open East China Sea as your backdrop. Unlike the flat, sandy beaches most people picture, Manza has real scale and texture. For proposals, the headland at sunset is one of the most genuinely spectacular settings we've found in five years on the island. Families and couples both work beautifully here.
Cape Manza, Onna Village
The most dramatic coastal scenery on the main island — and that's saying something. Rugged coral cliffs drop straight into turquoise water, with the open East China Sea as your backdrop. Unlike the flat, sandy beaches most people picture, Manza has real scale and texture. For proposals, the headland at sunset is one of the most genuinely spectacular settings we've found in five years on the island. Families and couples both work beautifully here.
Nirai Beach, Chinen Peninsula
One of the quietest beaches on the main island that still has real visual impact. Tucked below low cliffs on the south-east coast, it rarely draws the crowds that hit the Onna resort beaches. The water is that particular Okinawan turquoise-over-white-sand combination, but with a natural frame of rock and greenery that gives portraits genuine depth. A strong choice for families who want the classic Okinawan beach look without the parasols and paddleboats of the busier spots.
And there are many more! My partner photographer will be happy to share their local knowledge and insights to help you plan the best photoshoot.
Before you book- FAQ
-
Minimum a few weeks in advance, although some people book up to 4-6 months ahead. Peak season (July–December & April- May) fill up fast. If you're planning a proposal, the more notice the better.
-
Absolutely. Have a spot in mind? Bring it. Not sure where to go? My partner photographer will suggest somewhere based on your style and what works best for your itinerary.
-
This is a personal referral, not a marketplace listing. I know their work, and trust them completely. When I can't be in Okinawa myself, this is who I send people to.
-
Okinawa's overcast and rainy-season light is genuinely beautiful, some of the best sessions happen on cloudy days. My partner photographer will always have a plan regardless of the forecast.
