How far in advance should I book a photoshoot in Tokyo?

We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance for regular sessions, and 4–6 weeks ahead for surprise proposal shoots or visits during peak seasons such as cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and Golden Week (late April to early May). KP Photography limits the number of daily bookings to ensure personalised attention for every client, so early booking is strongly advised.

Where do photoshoots take place in Tokyo?

KP Photography shoots across all of Tokyo's most iconic and atmospheric locations — including Shibuya Crossing, Shinjuku Golden Gai, Yanaka, Shimokitazawa, Asakusa, teamLab Borderless, Shiba Park (Tokyo Tower), Hamarikyu Gardens, and many lesser-known hidden gems. Kan tailors every location to match your style, whether that's classic Tokyo landmarks, cyberpunk neon streets, traditional neighbourhoods, or nature escapes. Shoots can also be arranged outside Tokyo — including Kyoto, Okinawa, Hakone, and across Japan.

Surprise proposal sessions include discreet positioning so your partner never suspects, and same-day teaser photos are often delivered shortly after the shoot. Kan has never missed a booked photoshoot in over 10 years.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Edited photos are typically delivered within 3–5 business days via a private online gallery. For surprise proposal shoots, same-day teaser images are often shared on the day itself so you can relive the moment immediately. The full edited gallery follows within the standard turnaround window.

Do you photograph surprise proposals in Tokyo?

This depends on the boat operator, but in the case of heavy rain, the cruise will be canceled. We'll first try to reschedule based on availability. If that's not possible, we'll work together to find an alternative shooting plan elsewhere. As a last resort, if none of that works out, your retainer will be refunded minus a US$100 fee (which covers the concierge service) plus any costs already incurred on add-ons such as decorations or a bouquet
The vessel can accommodate up to 10 people. Note there will be an extra surcharge depending on group size.
