Cherry blossom season is one of the most competitive and challenging times to propose in Tokyo. During this time, parks and popular locations are filled with visitors taking photos and having picnics. Timing is tight and there are no second chances. What This Means for Proposals

  • Crowds are unavoidable.

  • People rarely move away for proposal moments, they are too busy with their own photos.

  • Long-distance hiding or “stealth” photography is often impractical as poor timing/ by passers can ruin the moment.

Photographer’s Honest Note

  • Please note that there are no private cherry blossom viewing spots in the park — it is a fully public space. It’s important that you feel comfortable proposing in front of other visitors. I will do my best to choose a quieter area and manage the positioning to minimize the crowd in the background, but complete privacy cannot be guaranteed.

  • We also cannot stop traffic. If the proposal takes longer than few minutes (at most), people may naturally start passing by or enter the frame.

  • It’s also impossible to plan the exact proposal spot in advance. The final location will depend on the blooming condition, crowd levels, and lighting on the day. Flexibility is the key — we’ll go with the flow and choose the best available spot in the moment to ensure the most beautiful result.
