English-Speaking Photographer at Mount Fuji, Kawaguchiko & Hakone

Updated June 2026

Mt. Fuji doesn't need an introduction. But the difference between a good photo here and a great one is knowing exactly where to stand, and when. My partner photographer is based locally — they know the light at Oishi Park before the tour buses arrive, which side of the lake stays clear when clouds roll in, and how to plan a surprise proposal so nothing goes wrong.

Mount Fuji & Kwaguchiko Surprise Proposal photoshoot

Kawaguchiko Romantic Rainy Day Surprise Proposal

We kept a close eye on the weather forecast right up until the last minute, hoping for clear views of Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, the rain was here to stay. But every surprise proposal we photograph in Kawaguchiko comes with a backup plan.

On the day, we quickly pivoted to our pre-scouted rain location and the proposal went ahead flawlessly. As it turned out, the rain became part of the magic—adding mood, reflections, and dramatic light that made every image even more memorable.

The surprise was perfect, the emotions were real, and the photos tell a story that couldn't have happened any other way. Sometimes, a rainy day at Lake Kawaguchi creates the most unforgettable proposal of all.

FAQ

  • Oishi Park and the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi for Mt. Fuji reflections; Hakone Shrine's Heiwa no Torii and Lake Ashi for a more intimate woodland setting. Both work year-round.

  • Oct–Nov for autumn colour and clear skies; late March–April for cherry blossoms at Chureito Pagoda; January–February for snow and the clearest Fuji views. Each season has a different mood.

  • Yes. Hakone offers completely different scenery — Lake Ashi and the open-air museum are all popular session locations for proposals, couples, and families.

  • It happens all the times. Our partner photographer knows backup locations and how to read conditions. Some of the most memorable sessions happen on misty or rainy days — the Kubota Itchiku Art Museum is a beautiful rainy-day alternative right on Lake Kawaguchi.
